Hello, my name is Ryan.
I'm 28 years old and have been incarcerated for going on 10 years. I got locked up for a tragic, trauma inducing accident that I think about and reminded of every single day of my life. But over the years I was able to grow up mentally as well as physically and I am very proud of who I am today.
I've received my degree and strive to do the best I can in all situations I come across in my day to day life. I'm a very happy and positive person and enjoy making others feel that way. I'd say I have a very contagious smile. When people are around me I give 2-3 minutes before were both laughing.
I've come to realize on this journey that life is too short to be mad or sad all the time. Granted we are all thrown some curveballs out of nowhere in life (believe me I know) and it's perfectly normal to grieve and embrace the loss of hardship head on but trust these words I'm about to say."It won't last forever".
So if you're cooped up in your house bored or feeling kind of crappy or just flat out want to talk, write me a letter. Believe it or not I got a little free time :)
