Hi, my name is Jason. The reason I'm getting involved with PPP is to meet new and interesting people.
A little about myself: I like sunset walks on the beach, creating my own earthenware pottery and metal concerts. Joking. I'm sure there's things are fun to do, but I'm in prison; have been for the last 10 years. So, I'll have to wait a couple more years before I'll feel sand, clay, or bodies crushed against me at a metal show. Can't wait!
On a serious note, I'm 47, a father of two adult kids (one in construction and the other in college) and lucky to have a supporting cast of extended family and friends who stand by my side. I'm an honorable discharge US Marine and currently housed in a veterans block that is focused on getting vets, like myself, home a little sooner. Also, I've been clean and sober for over 10 1/2 years, something I'm. extremely proud of.
Self-improvement is important to me. Instead of running from responsibility I seek them out, challenging myself physically and mentally every day. I'm in great shape, working within this jails recreation department. And, recently, I've earned a college degree and continue to formally educate myself through federal grants. My long-term goal is to use my education coupled with my life experience to help others who like myself have found themselves in a pretty dark place.
We all can use a "hand up"at one time or another during our lifetime. And when this present experiences is over, it will be my turn to get back, just like those who have help me out along the way.
Fitness and formal education are not my only interest. Art, science, music, history and politics also interested me. No matter what it is I can talk about it and rarely am I at a loss of words.
So, if you'd like to write, I'll always give lots of feedback. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
