Dear Visitor,

It has been brought to our attention in a recent customer survey poll with our customers that MANY of the prisoners listed on our site are being SOLICITED by people looking at our site. They are getting information they have not requested and do not want. Many of the companies contacting them are fly-by-night operations that are looking to make a quick dollar off of prisoners.

We have contacted an attorney in the state of Pennsylvania about what we could do as an Internet site to protect our prisoners who pay to have their ad posted for pen pals to write, not companies or individuals SOLICITING their business. We were advised to post a message for all our viewers to see that we will allow NO SOLICITING of the prisoner ads listed on our sites, PrisonPenPals.com. This is that message.

We are advising ALL our prisoners to REPORT to us anyone that is SOLICITING them, and we intend to prosecute people who are violating our company policy, and ban their computer address from access to our site.

If you are looking for a pen pal(s) to write, WONDERFUL...use our site, it's FREE for you and the best site on the Internet for people to find Prison Pen Pals.

If you are a BUSINESS or INDIVIDUAL that wants to SOLICIT our customers, we ask that you do not do this. It will be a direct violation of our company policy and the prisoners that you solicit WILL notify us and we will file charges for UNWANTED SOLICITATION by MAIL, no matter what state or country you are doing business in. The prisoners and our company have the right to NOT RECEIVE SOLICITATION once we make a public statement on our site letting YOU know what our policy is.

This is our public statement that we do NOT want our customers, the prisoners, SOLICITED, and the PRISONERS using our service DO NOT want UNSOLICITED information, as of 02-04-2001.

ILLEGAL ACTS committed against PrisonPenPals.com - There have been EMAIL reports and visual confirmation to us of other sites stealing our copyrighted information, posting false information about our site, and other unlawful activities. PrisonPenPals.com will have a ZERO TOLERANCE stance against such things as defamation of character leading to the loss of business or credibility, copyright infringement, and other illegal acts against our site. If your site or business commits acts such as this, we will prosecute to the fullest extent of the law. Copyrights should be respected by everyone that uses our site.

We are asking YOU as a visitor to our site to help us with our commitment to excellence by WRITING prisoners and letting them know you found their ad on our site, emailing us if you see any other site using our copyrighted information, and helping to spread the word about our site and our fight for prisoners to get mail ALL AROUND THE WORLD.

Since 1996 we have helped THOUSANDS of prisoners get pen pals. By becoming a nonprofit organization we will be able to provide our wonderful service to prisoners for decades to come, and be able to actually help prisoners from all over the globe. Watch our site for upcoming CRITICAL ISSUES such as prisoners being REFUSED mail at various prisons, and prisons wanting to BAN PRISONERS from having pen pals or pen pal ads, closing their lines of communication to the outside world.
