Hello,

My name is Derik. I signed up for Prison Pen Pals to hopefully gain new and healthy friendships with both men and women who share the same goals and want to live a more meaningful lifestyle
.
Since my incarceration I've continued to further my education which has helped me to obtain a full-time job upon release. I also enjoy reading, especially self-help and nonfiction, but lately I've been really into the autobiographies of famous people who have struggled with addiction problems.

Upon my release sometime in 2020 I plan to go back to school while rebuilding a healthy relationship with my family. I have 2 daughters and refuse to let them be without a father. I will continue to work diligently and hope to reenter society as a productive member.
