Even in the worst of prisons as I've been confined to in the past 20 years there is much for which I am
thankful. I'm still in the best of health and I have a loving family
that has stood by and supported me and visits me often. It's a lot, and a lot
more than most in here but still there is a huge void in my life, an
unfulfilled hollow in my heart. some days I look around me and feel like the
lone astronaut hurtling through outer space, a million miles away from all the
people I've loved and places I've known...out where the emptiness of eons past
is so vast it silences even the scream...Briefly, after an Oliver Twist-like childhood in rural North Carolina that promised a future as predestined for failure as that of a Christmas tree salesman bound for Saudi Arabia...following a predictable progression of property crimes and a series of dramatic escapes from various orphanages, reformatories, jails and prisons, in 1986 I escaped from a prison high in the Blue Ridge Mountains,
stole a small airplane, flew it to Florida and robbed my first bank.
Over the next 5 years I went on to rob many more banks in 10 states. During
that time the F.B.I. nicknamed me "The Gentleman Bandit", and formed a special
task force to
apprehend me. Eventually I was profiled on "Unsolved Mysteries".
"Nightline", and "America's Most Wanted" then finally after 3 years of living
like a Kennedy on vacation and concealing my true identity from my TV model
girlfriend, robbing more than 100 banks and setting up an offshore account in
the Cayman Islands...On January 21, 1991 I was recognized by a viewer of
America's Most Wanted and arrested in Atlanta, GA. By then I had become so
notorious that the then Director W. S. of the F.B.I. flew to Atlanta to
personally take part in my arrest. I was later sentenced to a total of 85 years
in Federal Prison. since then I've spent most of that time
in
U.S.P. Marion, Illinois, then at the governments newest Orwellian nightmare of
razor wire and high tech wizardry in Florence, Colorado known ad the "Alcatraz
Of The Rockies". Recently at long last I was transferred to a lesser secure
U.S.P. in Central Florida where I'm currently working to take advantage of a
recent Supreme Court ruling that could soon set me free.I would like to meet someone whose heart is similarly hollow and unfulfilled and who's a previous paths to friendship, or more, have led only to dead ends and disappointments free spirited lady who knows that love and logic are seldom a team and
